International PARK(ing) Day is celebrated downtown on Broadway between 2nd and 5th avenues. Each space is donated by the city of Nashville for the day and individual groups decorate the miniature parks as they wish. It was definitely a different shooting experience than I am used to due to the difficulty in getting candid photos from the subjects.
I had the awesome opportunity to shoot one of the best receivers in college football this past week as a part of a long form story. My photos ended up running as the cover as well as a part of the two page spread on the interior that housed the actual story. I am amazed at how well they printed, especially after the shoot that I did last year with him that did not go particularly well from a photography standpoint. I cannot believe how much I have improved as a photographer in a year.
I had the good fortune to be awarded credentials for the 5th week of the Live on the Green concert series in downtown Nashville. The event featured Nashville bands Lulu Mae and Leagues as well as Local Natives, the headliner. Although, going into the show, I had no idea who any of these bands were, I very much enjoyed shooting it.
