I just wanted to write a quick post thanking everyone who voted on my photo in the Vanderbilt GEO Photo Contest on Facebook during the past week. The 329 likes that I received were good enough for 3rd place and I am extremely grateful for that. It has come to my attention that the top two vote getters are in some sort of heated battle about the validity of their likes that their photos received (they ended up with 1078 and 888 likes respectively). I am absolutely not saying that I should win or them both be disqualified, in fact, I am totally secure in the fact that I came in 3rd place. Seriously, just share the photo with your friends and ask that they do the same and see if your work can stand on its own. If you took the best photo, people will like it. Of course this contest is a popularity contest above all else but, in the end, who cares? Is it worth compromising your morals in order to win the title of Grand Prize winner?
